OUR USED CLOTHING DONATION PROGRAM

As part of our environmental commitment, we have launched a used clothing collection program. The aim is to promote the recovery of garments so they can be recycled, thereby reducing textile waste and its environmental impact.

How can you give your garments to be recycled?

Store delivery: we have clothes collection containers in our stores where you can deposit the textile garments you wish to recycle. Currently we do not collect footwear or accessories. You can check the locations in our Store Finder.
Online delivery: in an effort to bring the clothes collection programme closer to our online store customers, we currently have a home collection service in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, totaling 4 municipalities and 27 provinces.

When completing an online purchase, you can also request a used clothes collection. When the courier delivers your order they will also collect the textile products you would like to recycle. Please remember to properly package your garments to ensure they arrive to us. We currently do not collect footwear or accessories.

Please note that the maximum measurements of the package must be 50 cm x 50 cm x 50 cm. It does not need to have any identifying labels.

In Chinese mainland, where we collaborate with RecottonPlus, the program aims to recover used textile garments from any brand, regardless of their condition, to give them a second life through recycling.

No, we accept clothes with all levels of wear. The textile garments collected will be sorted by RecottonPlus by composition to determine the best recycling destination: recycled into new fibers for the textile industry, or creating other lower-quality textile products (downcycling) such as thermal insulation for the construction industry or stuffing for the automotive industry. As a last resource, if the items cannot be recycled, they would be used for energy production.

Zara will be in charge of collecting and delivering the garments to RecottonPlus, where they are classified to ensure that each item gets sent to the best possible destination: recycled into new fibers for the textile industry, or creating other lower-quality textile products (downcycling) such as thermal insulation for the construction industry or stuffing for the automotive industry. As a last resource, if the items cannot be recycled, they would be used for energy production.
