As part of our social and environmental commitment, we want to help you extend the useful life of your garments. To do so, we have created a used clothing donation programme

In collaboration with local non-profit organisations, we recover garments that are no longer used and give them a second life.

How can you make your donation?

Store delivery: we have clothes collection containers in our stores where you can deposit the package with the clothes you wish to donate. You can check the locations in our Store Finder. Remember that your donation must be placed inside a properly sealed package.
Online delivery: in an effort to bring the used clothing donation programme closer to our online store customers, we currently have a clothing donation home collection service in Shanghai, Beijing and Jiangsu.

At the end of the purchase process you can request collection of a clothes donation, and the courier, taking advantage of their delivery routes, will collect the package with the clothes you wish to donate at the same delivery address as the order. Remember that the garments must be placed inside a properly sealed package.

Please note that the maximum measurements of the package must be 50 cm x 50 cm x 50 cm. It does not need to have any identifying labels.

Yes. The garments collected will be sorted before being reused or recycled. All garments which are 100% cotton, wool or polyester can be recycled into new fabrics. The rest of the clothing will be turned into materials for the construction and automotive sectors. Garments that cannot be reused or recycled for reasons of hygiene, health and safety, or quality of the materials undergo a rigorous waste management procedure.

Zara will be in charge of collecting and delivering the garments to the sorting centres run by the organisations we work with, where they are classified to ensure that each item gets sent to the best possible destination. Depending on the capacities of each organisation, the garments may be:

_ Donated to those in need.

_ Reused and transformed into other textile products such as cloths.

_ Recycled into new fibres and materials for the construction and automotive sectors (seat filling, cushions, etc.).

Garments that cannot be reused or recycled for reasons of hygiene, health and safety, or quality of the materials undergo a rigorous waste management procedure.

The aim of all these processes is to provide direct social support or to finance social projects that are developed or run by the non-profit organisations we work with. Furthermore, in certain cases, such as Spain, the initiative boosts the creation of jobs for people at risk of experiencing social exclusion.
